ALEXANDRA CHURCHILL -- PAINTER

Born in Canada and now living in England, Alexandra Churchill began painting at 12. Since then, Alexandra has become a proven market leader in fine works for publishing, and is a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild. Her earlier careers in fashion, art and antiques have all helped to shape her unique style.

Her originals are in many private collections around the world, including those of celebrities and royal families.

In 1992 Alexandra published her first series of hugely successful 18th and 19th century Naive animal prints which established her as one of the most recognised artists in the country. Her collections went on to include other animals, balloons, flowers and fruit, many appearing in television series, films and hotels.

Alexandra shares her Cotswold studio with her photographer husband and two dogs in the beautiful English countryside. She has two children, a son who is also an artist living in the Cotswolds, and a daughter who is an interior decorator in Sydney, Australia. www.alexchurchillstudio.com
JO ELLEN KRASNOBROD -- FOUNDER/DESIGNER

Born of Scandinavian and English descent, Jo finds herself right at home in the Sierra Mountains in California. “I have the best of both worlds: the hi-tech and entertainment industries accessible to me to run a business, and the near proximity of mountain meadows and big cities for creative inspiration.”

Building an ornament company seemed a natural extension for someone who loves Christmas and travel. “I have always been involved in some aspect of product development.

When I was not able to find heirloom-quality ornaments to bring home as memories of my travels, a concept was born. Of course, the real intrigue is in finding out what sells to whom and tailoring my designs to feed that market.”

For example, while New Mexico has fewer world-renowned landmarks such as New York City, Jo has captured the spirit and colors of that state with balloons.

Her Colonial Trade Balls were inspired by the need to celebrate the delicate Asian designs that have had such influence in the home-decorating, motifs, the tea trade and porcelain industries.

Her Test for Success? “Each ornament must be able to make me smile!”
