| JO
ELLEN KRASNOBROD -- FOUNDER/DESIGNER |
 |
Born of Scandinavian and English descent, Jo finds herself right at home in the Sierra Mountains in California. “I have the best of both worlds: the hi-tech and entertainment industries accessible to me to run a business, and the near proximity of mountain meadows and big cities for creative inspiration.”
Building an ornament company seemed a natural extension for someone who loves Christmas and travel. “I have always been involved in some aspect of product development. |
| When I was not able to find heirloom-quality ornaments to bring home as memories of my travels, a concept was born. Of course, the real intrigue is in finding out what sells to whom and tailoring my designs to feed that market.”
For example, while New Mexico has fewer world-renowned landmarks such as New York City, Jo has captured the spirit and colors of that state with balloons.
Her Colonial Trade Balls were inspired by the need to celebrate the delicate Asian designs that have had such influence in the home-decorating, motifs, the tea trade and porcelain industries.
Her Test for Success? “Each ornament must be able to make me smile!” |
